REMOVABLE NIGHT-TIME BRACE (HEADGEAR)

Headgear is used for molars that are positioned too far back.

Since headgear is usually worn at night, it is commonly referred to as a ‘night-time brace’.

Headgear consists of a metal band and a head cap or neck strap and is usually worn at night. It is used for backward displacement of the lower jaw (mandibular retrusion). Growth-related forward displacement of the upper jaw is decelerated while the lower jaw can catch up on any missed growth. Patients can put on and take off the night-time brace themselves.

REMOVABLE NIGHT-TIME BRACE (MONOBLOCK)

A monoblock-headgear combination has a gentle biomechanical effect.

Treatment with a monoblock allows for a growth-related forward shifting of the lower jaw, optimum jaw repositioning and visible improvement of the profile.

Visible impairment of one’s profile is often associated with the backward displacement of the lower jaw. Monoblock-headgear redirects growth-related, biomechanical forces to shift the lower jaw forwards and correct jaw positioning. Monoblock-headgear is preferably worn at night and can be put on and taken off by the patient independently.
